Skyrim Special Edition Version 1.2 update is here !
Skyrim: Special Edition has received another update on PC in the form of a beta edition.
There are no major new features in patch 1.2, it generally focuses on improving performance of the game and resolving various issues and crashes the players were facing. It also makes improvements to the mod-browsing experience. Complete notes are given at the bottom of this post.
It doesn’t appear this update deals specifically with the reports of update 1.1 causing crashes across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. For its part, Bethesda has said it’s investigating those crashes, but there’s no word yet on when a fix will arrive or if any workarounds currently exist.
If you’re playing Skyrim: Special Edition on PC and want to download update 1.2 now, you’ll have to specifically opt into it. You can do this by going to the Properties menu of the game on Steam (by right-clicking it in your library) and select Beta from the Betas drop-down menu. This will cause the update to automatically download and install.
There was a gap of less than a week between when update 1.1 was released in beta on PC and when it officially launched on consoles. That may again be the case here, but there’s no official word as of yet if that is the timetable we’re looking at.
